Water Meter Audit Program

The Evergreen Metropolitan District requires an audit of your inside meter every other year. An audit letter will be mailed to you along with your statement. You will be asked to read the meter, enter the appropriate information on the form and return the form to the office. 

The audit form serves dual purposes. By the customer reading the inside meter, EMD can verify that the meter and the reading device read by the meter reader is accurate. That assures the customer is receiving a true and accurate bill. If a discrepancy is found, the problem can be corrected immediately.

Inside water meters are usually located in a utility room, furnace room, basement, crawl space or garage. The meter is brass with a black hinged top which when raised shows the dials. The numbers shown on the dial are the numbers to record on the audit card along with the read date.
