LAZY VALLEY TANK PROJECT The
project to replace the old 50,000 gallon tank at Lazy Valley with a new
500,000 gallon reservoir is currently underway. This site is located on
Evergreen Parkway just west of Bank of the West. The new reservoir will
provide greater storage capacity of water for the northern areas of the
District. These include El Pinal, Tanoa, Hiwan, Wah Keeney, El Rancho,
and Kittredge areas. A second phase of the project is to convert the old
50,000 storage tank into a new pump station. This new pump station will
be capable of delivering water to the north it a much more efficient
manner, requiring less power than the existing pump station. The goal
of the project is twofold: 1. To provide improved stability of the very
complex water distribution system and 2. To improve the efficiency of
the distribution pumping stations in order to meet water demands as well
as decrease power consumption. The Lazy Valley Project is scheduled for
completion April of 2010.

EMD WASTEWATER TREATMENT
PLANT IMPROVEMENTS
The project to remove the old, failed roof of the Evergreen Metro
District wastewater treatment facility secondary treatment process and
replace it with a new flat cover has begun. This is a very complex
project requiring demolition of the existing roof structure and
installation of a new flat, aluminum roof system while maintaining
operation of the treatment facilities at all times. The project is
scheduled for completion in late spring of 2010.
